Billy Joe Burns, age 62, of Claymont, DE, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018.

Born in Layland, WV on January 7, 1956, he was a son of Anna Belle (Coughlin) and the late Billy Joe Burns. Billy Joe graduated from Claymont HS where he was a talented wrestler, a passion that he passed down to his grandsons. He was also an avid hunter.

In addition to his father, Billy Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Buzzy Burns. He is survived by his daughter, Shelby Handlin (Christopher); son, Billy Lee Burns; sister, Carol Jensen (Dean); grandchildren, Victoria, Brittany, Christopher, Jr. and Jackson; and great grandson, Weston.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Knights of Columbus Brandywine Club, 135 Princeton Avenue, Claymont, Delaware.
