Birdie L. Moody, age 94, of Penn Tower in Penns Grove, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 29, 2012, with her family by her side at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE.
Birdie was born in Salem, NJ on September 1, 1918, daughter of the late Lester Rufus Ammonds and Myrtle May Sheppard Ammonds Sension, and remained a lifelong resident of Penns Grove, NJ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Rev. Harry Sension; siblings, Lester Rufus Ammonds, Jr., Josephine Kelly, and Frank Ammonds; and daughter, Birdie L. Lucas. She is survived her sons, Walter W. Zaluske, Jr. (Catherine L. Hart) of Delaware City, DE, and Cyrus M. Zaluske (Jessica Wolfer Zaluske) of Woodstown, NJ; grandchildren, Shena Seppanen (Lucas) of Berlin, NJ, Walter W. Zaluske III, Jamie N. Zaluske, and Keith M. Zaluske (Kathryn Jackson Zaluske), all of Penns Grove, NJ, Brian W. Zaluske of Delaware City, DE, Cyle Zaluske and Casey Zaluske, both of Woodstown, NJ; and friends, Aunt Shirley and Joe Hodgson, Nancy Krim, Sandy and Eddie Lindsay, and Doris and everyone in the Penn Towers community.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 3rd, at Carney’s Point Wesleyan Church, 333 Georgetown Road, Carney’s Point, NJ, 08069, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Virginia Avenue and Pitman Street, Penns Grove, NJ.
