January 6, 1940 - December 6, 2021

          Brenda D. Cain, age 81, of New Castle, DE, passed peacefully from life on the morning of Monday, December 6, 2021 in the comfort of her own home.

          Born in Scranton, PA, on January 6, 1940, she was a daughter of George and Ellen (Stender) Driscoll.  Her family relocated to Wilmington, DE, where she graduated from P.S DuPont in 1957. Brenda married her late husband, John A. Cain, on June 16th, 1962. She worked at DuPont as a clerk throughout her years and retired from MeadowWood Hospital in New Castle, DE. In her free time, Brenda loved spending time at Bethany Beach, winning big at the casino, painting, and making ceramics at the Howard Weston Senior Center with her friends.

          In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her loving husband, John A. Cain. She is survived by her daughters, Doreen Babiarz (Mark) of Elkton, MD and Sharon Cale (Merle) of New Castle; three grandsons, Brandon Cale (Kelly), Michael Cale and Dale Babiarz; two great-grandsons, Logan and Hunter Cale; and brothers, Robert and Daniel Driscoll.

          A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Monday, December 13, 2021, Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 2 pm. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.  

          In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Brenda’s memory to the Howard Weston Senior Center, 1 Basset Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19720, or online by clicking here.

  • Sorry of your Loss Sharon & Doreen I will miss your Mom so much at the Center. Brenda enjoyed making her Ceramics for everyone and she really did a great job and beautiful work. I will miss the trips we used to go on. I have one on my refridgerator. Those were some fun trips. I will miss you my dear friend R.I.P. Brenda
