Carl Gregg Ewart, Jr., age 65, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 28, 2016.
Carl was born in Chester, PA on October 13, 1950, and was a son of Carl Gregg Ewart, Sr. and Florence I. (Null) Ewart. He graduated from Claymont High School in 1969 and later proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, where he received the National Defense Service Medal and was acknowledged for his excellent marksmanship skills. Carl made his career with Famous Footware and later at Amazon, retiring after many years of dedicated employment.
An avid sports fan, he looked forward to cheering on his favorite team, the Philadelphia Phillies each season. Carl was a devoted son, adored brother and loving uncle and great uncle who will be dearly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl, Sr. Carl is survived by his mother, Florence; siblings, Kay Herrman (Neil) of Tampa, FL, Guy Ewart (Debbie) of Frankford, DE and Nancy Elder (Doug) of Newark, DE; special nieces and nephews, Douglas Elder, Carl Elder (Colleen), Mike Herrman (Noelle) and Jay Herrman; and great nieces and nephews, Brooke, Carl James, Christopher and Olivia.
Services and interment will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
