Carl R. Trammell

Mr. Carl R. Trammell, age 47, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at his home.
A native Delawarean, Carl was born in Wilmington on October 1, 1964. He made his career in automobile manufacturing with the former Chrysler Corporation, where he was widely admired by supervisors and colleagues alike for his unfailing personal commitment to a job well done.
Carl was a devoted Christian throughout his life and a longtime member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. A gifted teacher with an excellent sense of humor, he delighted in sharing the good news of the Bible with anyone who sought his advice on Christian living. He was also a devoted family man and was always at his happiest when spending time with his wife and daughters.
In his leisure hours, Carl greatly enjoyed traveling with his family and watching football. He loved good food and was never shy about trying any new recipe or interesting cuisine.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Batson. He is survived by his beloved wife of twelve years, Lesley Denson Trammell; daughters, Erica R. Trammell and Gabriele D. Trammell, both at home; son, Damon Simmons; stepson, Jeffrey Walker; father, Jerry Batson of Seaford, DE; brothers, Jerry O. Sample of Dover, DE, and Jerry A. Batson of Wilmington, DE; sisters, Jennifer Parker of Seaford, DE, Denise A. Batson-Lenoir of Wilmington, DE, Jetuan A. Tingle of Bridgeville, DE, and Sherlene R. Coles of Auburn, GA; and many extended family members and good friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday, October 5th, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3011 North Heald Street, Wilmington, DE 19802. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 6th, at the same location. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in memory of Carl to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the address above.
