Mrs. Carol H. Phearson, age 88, of Bear, DE, formerly of Woodbury, NJ, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012.
Born in Lakewood, OH, on November 8, 1923, Mrs. Phearson was the daughter of the late Roy Schlick and the late Hazel Hershberger Schlick. During World War II, she assisted in the war effort as a secretary with the Department of the Navy. She would go on to make her professional career in administration with the Diocese of Camden, NJ, where she retired after 19 1/2 years of service.
A devout Christian, Mrs. Phearson was a lifetime member of Christ Episcopal Church in Woodbury, NJ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin L. Phearson, and by her daughter, Deborah Van Schenkbrill. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia A. Rebyak (William T.) of Bear, DE; grandchildren, Gregg (Shannon), Jeff (Russ), Christopher (Lindsay), and Robert (Brooke); and great grandchildren, Kyle, Luke, Gavin, Cieran, and Ashley.
Funeral services will be held privately.
