Carol M. Ice, age 74, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on April 22, 1943, Carol was the daughter of the late John and Alice (Hawks) Dougherty. She owned and operated Me-Mom’s Daycare, providing in-home childcare for a number of youngsters throughout the years. In her leisure time, Carol enjoyed cruise travel and visiting casinos. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by all.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Junior L. Ice; children, Susan Dobrosielski (Chris) and Glenn, all of Newark; brother, Bobby Dougherty; grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Haleigh, and Ryan; and great grandchildren, Taylor, Jayden, Jaylynn, Joey, and Jordan.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday morning, October 28, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carol’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing.

  • Carol is my (Sister in law).Yes she’s a wonderful person,kind hearted and loving.We r going to miss u dearly.I remember she and junior were down on the farm for a visit and while they were there,junior and her went out to buy a set of horse head’s to be posted at the entrance to our property,that was a very sweet thought.When junior and I were still on the farm at sharpsburg,Maryland as kid’s we finally seperated and for year’s we were not connected because i was enlisted in the military and travel here and over sea’s.Finally junior found me and came for a visit,we have been very close since him, and Carol. You will live on in your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. God gained an Angel who loved her family unconditionally!

  • i still think about my memom and how loving and caring she was and I still think about her to this day and age screenshot pictures of her when I see her and at night I pray for her and I tell her how much I love her and I hope that I see her one day in heaven and that me and her had a great bond and that I’m officially 12 now and I love you so much rest in peace Memom🥺💕
