Carolyn C. McGrath, age 89, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

Born in Chippewa Falls, WI on March 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Ruth (Ermatinger) Paul. Carolyn was a 1954 graduate of McDonell Memorial High School in Chippewa Falls. She then began working at Wisconsin Bell Telephone Co. Carolyn married the love of her life, Ronald McGrath on June 28, 1958 in Notre Dame Church. Together, Carolyn and Ronald moved to Delaware. She made her career at Wilmington Trust, spending 20 years with the bank as a teller until her retirement in 1998.

Carolyn was a devoted member of St. Joseph Parish in Middletown. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Above all, Carolyn cherished the memories she made with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ronald T. McGrath; and brother, James Paul. She is survived by her children, Thomas McGrath (Becky) of MA, Kevin McGrath (Tracey) of TX, Daniel McGrath (Jen) of MD, and Kathleen McGrath of DE; grandchildren, Daniel McGrath of DE, Sean McGrath of DE, Sam McGrath of MA, Minea McGrath of MA, and Breanna Peart of SC; and great-grandchildren, Joselynn, Ryker and Ruyn.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Friday, January 23, 2026, at St. Joseph Parish, 319 East Main Street. Middletown, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 am. A committal service will follow in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
