Catharine Elizabeth Griesemer Schealer

Mrs. Catharine Elizabeth Griesemer Schealer, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011, from complications of congestive heart failure.

Mrs. Schealer was born in Reading, PA and moved to Newark in 1940 from Boyertown, PA with her husband, Franklin B. “Kelly” Schealer. She was retired from the University of Delaware Bookstore.

She valued her independence and was happy she was able to live in her own home until her death. She enjoyed reading, feeding the birds and the squirrels in her yard, and caring for her cats.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1973 and her sister, Virginia Burger in 1990. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Over, and husband, Russ; grandson, Michael Over, and wife, Deanna; and her great-grandson, Alexander; all of Newark.

Services and burial were held privately. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown, PA.
