Catherine M. Moen

Mrs. Catherine M. Moen, age 88, of Media, PA, formerly of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013.
A native Delawarean, Mrs. Moen was born in Harbeson on January 1, 1925, daughter of the late Edgar Messick and Mae Carey Messick. She made her career as a personnel administrator with the DuPont Company, working at the Wilmington and Seaford sites for 30 years until her retirement in 1986.
A devout Christian, she was a longtime member of Kingswood United Methodist Church. In her leisure hours, she greatly enjoyed traveling, boating, shopping, and cross-stitching. More recently, she looked forward to playing bridge and taking yoga classes with her many friends at Riddle Village in Media.
Mrs. Moen was devoted to her family throughout her life (especially her beloved grandsons!) and will be sadly missed by the many people who loved her. Her husband, Harold J. Moen, passed away in 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly A. Kates and her husband Paul; grandsons, Jason and Ethan Thompson; and great grandchildren, Meagan and Shane Thompson.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Harbeson Cemetery, Rts. 9 and 5, Harbeson.
