Charles Benjamin Henson

Charles Benjamin Henson, age 93, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 9, 2024.

Born in Illinois on July 11, 1931, he was a son of the late Bert and Emma Jane (Hartmann) Henson, Sr. Charles proudly served in the United States Army. He worked as a tradesman for several different companies throughout his career that required extensive training. Charles was a loving and devoted husband to his wives.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Mavis Henson; wife, Rose Mary (Thawley) Henson; daughter, Jeannie M. Greggo; and siblings, Paul Henson, Bert Henson, Everett Henson, Margaret Henson, Mable Henson, and Alvina Henson. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Linda Henson, Melissa Clark-Aulgur, Dennis Henson (Lisa), Aaron Henson, and Roy Henson; 1 grandchild; and 2 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
