Charles Ignizio “Charlie” Polizzi

Charles Ignizio “Charlie” Polizzi, age 78, of Townsend, DE, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on October 12, 1946, he was the son of the late Andrew and Maria (Ilardi) Polizzi. Charlie was a graduate of Bushwick High School in Brooklyn, NY. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army, honorably serving his country during the Vietnam War. Once he returned home, Charlie married his high school sweetheart, Anna Mattarella. Together they built their first home in Ronkonkoma, NY where they raised their two daughters. Later in life, Charlie and Anna split their time between their homes in Naples, FL and Townsend, DE. Charlie made his career as an electrician, being an active member of IBEW, Local 25.

Charlie enjoyed playing cards and visiting casinos, especially those in Las Vegas. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Anna Polizzi. He is survived by his children, Deborah Polizzi-Gullo (Michael Gullo) and Dr. Tina Antonello; grandchildren, Conner Polizzi-Gullo, Alana Antonello, Ava Polizzi-Gullo, and Giana Antonello; great-nephews, Michael Huber and Steven Huber; as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

All services will be held privately.
