Charles Lindburg Vied, age 86, of New Castle, DE, passed away at his residence on Monday, October 8, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Charleston, WV, on September 23, 1932, he was a son of the late Sylvester and Ada May (Ellison) Vied. Charles dedicated his career as a steel mill worker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Esther Marian (Dunfee) Vied; 2 sons, Charles Vied, Sr. (Judy) and Phillip Vied (Norma); daughter, Patricia M. Lewandowski (Rick); brother, Kenneth Vied; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and dear friend, John Koracz.

A visitation of family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 noon, on Friday, October 19, 2018, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

    I really liked your dad he would talk to me with respect which I respected him for. I know when he seen my custom van with custom paint he had his painted the same I thought that was cool. I remember he also got me into CB radios. I often think about you all. Phil and Patti I do miss you two and your friendship. God bless and may he watch over you all in this time of need.
