Charles W. “Salty” Rhodes

Charles W. “Salty” Rhodes, age 88, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019.

Born in Wilmington, DE on August 24, 1931, he was the son of the late William and Pearl (Roberts) Rhodes. Salty worked as a truck driver and yard man for 42 years at the Teamsters Local 326. He also served as a past president as well as a life member at Minquadale Fire Company.

In addition to his parents, Salty was preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Modesto) Rhodes. He is survived by his children, Theresa Dilks (Dennis) of New Castle, Jon Beckett (Judy) of Ocean View, Kathryn Small (Roy) of Wilmington, Virginia Santiago of Newark, Linda Goodsell (Richard) of Bear and Donna Smallwood of Marathon, Florida; stepson, Charles Mullen (Patricia) of Yorktown, NY; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend thanks to The Kutz Home and Parkview Nursing Home for the special care provided to Salty.

At Salty’s final request, he asked that no services are to be held and that only his family be present at the cemetery.
