Ms. Cheryl Lynn Brooks Davis, age 50, of Middletown, DE, formerly of New Castle, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013.
Cheryl was born in Trenton, NJ on October 7, 1962, and made her career as the owner and proprietor of C & D Cleaning, which was based in her former New Castle home. She was very proud of the success of her small business; her excellent work ethic and commitment to a job well done earned her many satisfied clients, all of whom she regarded as treasured family members.
Most of all, Cheryl was devoted to her beloved children and grandchildren. Her happiest times were spent in their joyful company and in anticipation of the next festive family gathering. She was a truly wonderful daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be sadly missed by the many people who loved her.
She is survived by her son, Albert J. “A.J.” Davis and wife Jessica of Middletown; daughter, Kristin M. Davis of Middletown; mother and father, Jean and Dave Hawkins of Middletown; grandchildren, Aaden J. Davis, Ethan N. Davis, and Theresa M. Younger; brother, Kenneth Brooks and wife Val of Rutland, OH; sisters, Denise Guthrie and husband Mark of Middletown, and Carol Jensen and husband Kenneth of New Castle; sisters by marriage, Deborah Sullivan and Dianne Davis, both of New Castle; and many extended family members and close friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth S. Brooks, brother, Harold Brooks, and husband, Edward Joseph “Eddy” Davis.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, July 1st, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
