Christopher M. Shipkowski

Christopher M. Shipkowski, age 66, of New Castle DE, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021.

Born in Indianapolis, IN on January 1, 1955, he was a son of Louise (Raiewski) Shipkowski and the late Stanley P. Shipkowski.

Christopher worked as the owner/operator of Blue Hen Services. He was very mechanically inclined; he enjoyed working on cars or on anything else in need of repair. Christopher was an avid reader with a deep appreciation for nature. He loved spending any time outdoors, but especially camping, boating, fishing, and crabbing. Christopher was a known conversationalist, covering the topics of world events, history, and politics. Most of all, he enjoyed sharing simple joys with his grandchildren.

In addition to his father, Christopher was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Shipkowski, Jr. He is survived by his children, Stephanie Yates (Matt), Amanda Shipkowski (Robb), and James Shipkowski (Brianne); siblings, Susan Sendall (Joe), Mary Beauchemin (Robert), and John Shipkowski (Elva); grandchildren, Eve, Jade, Skye, Hailey, and Matthew; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. Interment will be held privately.
