Clinton H. Atkins, age 71, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012.
Born in Boissevain,VA, on May 29, 1940, Mr. Atkins was the son of the late Roy Peck Atkins and Mary Olevine Hardy. He proudly and honorably served his country in the US Army. Mr. Atkins worked as a dry wall finisher in the construction industry, retiring after 50 years of employment.
A true outdoorsman, Mr. Atkins was an avid hunter. He also liked watching old western movies and working on cars in his leisure time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Atkins. Mr. Atkins is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Nina G. Baker Atkins; son, Clinton Atkins II, and wife, Janet, of Newark; brother Roy “Junior” Atkins, of Bear; sister, Wanda Anderson, of Wilmington; and grandson, Johnathan Atkins.
A committal service will be held at 11 am on Monday, May 21, 2012, at The Chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
