Creed L. York, age 93, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, November 6, 2022.

Born in Matewan, WV on August 3, 1929, he was a son of the late Delbert C. and Virginia (Kimberling) York. Mr. York was a 1947 graduate of Logan High School in West Virginia. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force in the Korean War.

Mr. York was a self-employed painter, retiring in 1993. He was an avid pool player and enjoyed reading.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack R. York and his wife Patricia C. Mr. York will be dearly missed by his wife, Myrtle York; son, Delbert York and his wife Sandra of Biloxi, MS; daughter, Belinda Lamey and her husband Harry of Biloxi, MS; 2 grandchildren, Jason Moran and Michael York; 3 great grandchildren, all of Biloxi, MS; and sister, Marlena McDowell of Bear, DE.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
