Cynthia D. Brown, age 66, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020.
Born in Wilmington, DE on January 30, 1954, she was a daughter of Royce and Mary Wakefield. Cynthia was a graduate of Middletown High School. She worked in food service at the Delaware State Hospital. In her spare time, Cynthia enjoyed going shopping and loved to cook. Her most treasured moments were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her brother, Aaron Garrett. She is survived by her parents, Royce and Mary Wakefield of Middletown; daughters, Toshia Garrett of Bear and Kenwauna Garrett of Middletown; grandchildren, Shaquille Garrett, Deja-Nae Garrett, Jada Blake, Nina Williams, Nyra Williams and Davonah Williams; great grandchildren, Denzel Kilson and J-Adore Guy; siblings, DeCarlo Garrett (Vicki) of Denver, CO, Jonathan Garrett of Middletown, Gene Garrett of Middletown, Lyndell Garrett of Smyrna and Ernest Garrett of Middletown; friends, Patricia Cale, Florentine Anderson, Kathy Wanamaker, Faye Rhoades and Virgil Rhoades; devoted friend and care taker for the last year, Connie Ray; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 11 am on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE. Face masks will be required for all in attendance. Services and interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cynthia’s memory to Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 300 New Street, Middletown, DE 19709.
