Mrs. Darlene L. Morgan, age 89, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012.
Born in Birdsboro, PA, on November 20, 1922, Mrs. Morgan was the daughter of the late Claude Ludwig and Irene Wesley Ludwig. A gifted administrator, she made her career at the University of Delaware, where she retired after 30 years of service.
Mrs. Morgan was a wonderful wife and mother; she adored children and especially delighted in caring for babies. She was also an avid, knowledgeable birdwatcher who lovingly raised many pet birds over the years. In her leisure hours, she often enjoyed trips to the beach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Morgan, Jr., and her brother, Leonard Ludwig. She is survived by her children, Ronald Morgan and wife Janis of Dublin, OH, and Shirley Williams of Newark; sister, Dorothy Slack of Severna Park, MD; grandchildren, Christopher Morgan, Michelle Morgan, and Tanya Sellers.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, where visitation will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
