  • I lost my best friend and the BEST mom a girl could ask for. I miss you more than words could ever express. We had the best time and bond that anyone could EVER have. You are now cancer free ! You were my best girly and my favorite mom. Forever in my heart. We love you!

  • Mom was a wonderful caring loving person who brought joy to everyone who met her. She had a smile that would just brighten your day. I am very proud to call her my mother in law. I loved her dearly and this is a very painful and sad time for Leigh and I, as sad and devastated that we are in moms passing we find comfort in knowing her suffering is over. She fought cancer with a strong and willful desire to beat it. And she kept it at bay for a very long time. Her final days were spent with us with as much love and caring we could give her. Her final moments were as peaceful and easy as they could be. Mom left this earth on her terms surrounded by all our love. Her final night was spent with Leigh and I holding her hand and letting her know it was ok to move on. She was and will always be one of the strongest women I have ever met. Mom we love you so much and will miss you terribly.

  • Dear Leigh and Daniel,

We were saddened to hear that Deb had passed away. We extend our deepest sympathy to you. Deb adored you, admired you and was totally devoted to you as you know; but all her friends knew also because she talked about you all the time.
Deb had an effervescent personality that was contagious. Her positive outlook on life, no matter what difficulties she was personally enduring, was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was adventurous. She was fun. She was kind. She was generous. She loved her friends and we all adored her.
Deb enriched our lives. She will be deeply missed.

    Sincerely and with love,
    Tana and Rob Willingham

  • We lost a dear and treasured friend. I (Kathy) have known Deb for 52 years! She introduced Dave and I and for that we are grateful (36 years married!). She was a joy to know. She loved life, the color red, ducks and doing the “stork” dance with her Mother! She loved her daughter and son in law very much. I could go on and on about her she was that special. She fought the good fight but the cancer won in the end. She will be missed.

  • Leigh my most sincere condolences. I know how much your mom meant to you. I hope god grants you the strength to get through this.

  • We (the Cook Family) was devastated to hear of Debbie passing. I have known Debbie since I started with DuPont on 1981 and she was the first person I met at the Dexsta Credit Union. Being young and not knowing much about finances Debbie was there to always helped me…even called me when my check would bounced and told me to come in to the credit union to help me straighten it out. We became friends throughout the years and then introduced my mother (Marilyn Cook) and this is when my mom met Debbie’s mom (Doris). Debbie was one the kindest, sweetest lady I have every met. Living in Myrtle Beach now, I was hoping to go to see her at Daniel Island where is has been living for the last couple years. Leigh, I am so sorry for your loss, your mother was a wonderful person and hopefully your memories of her will get you and your husband through this very hard time. Rest in Peace Debbie…you are free of pain, now with your Mother and now both of you can look down upon your family and take care of them.
