Denise L. Schneider - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Denise L. Schneider

May 2, 1956 - February 23, 2016

Denise L. Schneider passed away at her home in Newark, DE on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at age 59, when her battle with brain cancer ended. Denise was born in Bradford, PA and was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Patricia Kopp Schneider, also of Bradford.

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Marketing from Indiana University and was last employed as a financial analyst in the Payroll, Records Management and HRIS Department at the University of Delaware when she retired after 22 years of service.

She is survived by her husband Robert Jessie of Newark, DE, together for 26 years, her sister Sara Schneider Harrison (Michael) of Gilbert, SC. And her sister Christine Schneider Clifford of Camden, SC, as well as her trusting dog Harley.

As many of you know, the three Schneider sisters were all born on the same day and celebrated their birthdays together each year doing what they liked best, eating and gambling. And no, they weren’t triplets.

She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Arthur Olsen (Patty) of Daytona Beach, FL, Gary Olsen (Darenda) of Franklin, TN, Stephen Scheer (Stephanie) of Cape May, NJ and sisters-in law Laurell Fleming of Newark, DE, Laura Barber (Phil) of Avalon, NJ, Sim Sulecki (Phil) of Winter Haven, FL and Mary Kathy Clark (Engelbert) of Elkton, MD, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Denise also wanted to let all her wonderful and generous family and friends know how much she appreciated them standing by her and helping with rides, outings and venting. She couldn’t have done it without all of you.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday afternoon, February 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where friends may visit from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Additional and final services will be held in her hometown of Bradford, PA at a later date.

  • Our family loves Denise and will miss her terribly! I always remember her beautiful smile and how she always was interested in what I was doing and how TN life was going for our family. Nothing really seemed to get her down, and she had such a sweet way of making you feel so comfortable in her home. And made the most yummy treats each year at the famous Jesse Memorial Day Party! Denise loved my sweet uncle Bobby with all her heart and we couldn’t have asked for a better Aunt! Love you always, beautiful Denise!

  • Uncle Bob my heart aches for you. I love you very very much. I’m praying that God will comfort you in this difficult season of your life. Aunt Denise will surely be missed by all who got the privelage to know her. She was a beautiful person!, the life of the party!, and a wonderful baker! 😉 To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Athough she will be missed, how encouraging it is to know that we will have much more time with Denise in eternity, than we ever had with her here on this earth.

  • I’m so sorry to hear of Denise’s transition. What a wonderful woman she was, with the sweetest disposition, a smile that lit the room, a laugh that was contagious, and a pure heart of gold. It is in the essence of life that we are to make memories that last through death. Denise will live on in the hearts of those that love her. Extending deep and heartfelt sympathy during this season of sorrow, to Denise’s family, friends, and most importantly to you Bobby. HUGS! <3

  • Many years have gone by but we remember Denise with loving thoughts. Her family lived next door to us for many years and Denise and my sister, Sally were best friends. We know she is rejoicing in Heaven with her parents and other loved ones. May God provide His Perfect Peace to the family and loved ones left behind. Soon and very soon we shall see you, Denise!! You fought a difficult battle here on earth, no more suffering. You are missed and will be missed here on earth!!
