Diane M. DeFilippis

Diane M. DeFilippis, age 81, of Dover, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2022, with her son by her side.

Born in Wilmington, DE on August 23, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John and Eleanor Blanchfield. Diane was a retired toll collector for the State of Delaware.

Diane loved traveling to Delaware Beaches and the boardwalks. She especially enjoyed shopping trips to Lancaster. In her leisure time, you could find her watching her favorite TV show, Law and Order. Diane held a special place in her heart for animals and cherished her Pomeranian, Mariah.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Isidoro M. “Izzy” DeFilippis. She is survived by her loving son, James A. DeFilippis; and many nieces and nephews. 

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11 am on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE.
