Dolores J. Iezzi, age 90 of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 3, 2022.

Born in Chester, PA on June 6, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Americo Zaini and Madeline (Pepe) DeBardino. Dolores worked for the Christina School District for many years in the cafeteria.  She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, especially making wedding and baby albums, and she was a talented and generous cook.  Dolores was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Newark, DE.

In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Iezzi, Sr.; daughter, Florence E. DiTeodora; son, Joseph John Iezzi, Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Iezzi. She is survived by her daughter, Marie E. Murson (Keith); son, Thomas J. Iezzi; son-in-law, Mario DiTeodoro; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, DE. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington, DE.

  • I’m sure going miss my friend Dee. She was like a second mom to me . We talked often . When I would go cut her hair we talked about her life and how much she loved her family. She told me she took up cosmetology . We had so much in common . Dolores was a special lady that was loved by many . She was an awesome cook . She amazed me how she cooked still in her later years . I want to thank her family for sharing her with me . I was so blessed having her in my life. Thinking of all her loved ones and sending hugs .
