Dolores M. Eminson

Ms. Dolores M. “Dee” Eminson, age 68, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.
Ms. Eminson was born in Chester, PA, on February 17, 1943, daughter of the late Lawrence Eminson and Victoria Humka Eminson. A gifted athlete and talented roller skater from her youth, she was a much-sought-after mentor and coach to other young skaters throughout her professional career. She was especially admired by skaters throughout the region for the excellence of her instruction, as well as her joyous enthusiasm for the sport.
Among Ms. Eminson’s other talents was her great facility as a seamstress. She did much of her own clothing design and, for a time, owned a local bridal salon where she created lovely wedding gowns.
In her leisure hours, she enjoyed listening to music–especially classical and blues–and caring for her beloved pets. Well known for her friendly manner and engaging conversation, Ms. Eminson delighted both in meeting new people and spending time with her many good friends.
She is survived by her son, George A. Asteris, Jr. of Earleville, MD; her daughter, Jamie D. Fenimore of Newark, DE; her brother, Thomas Eminson and wife, Linda, of Pittsburgh, PA; and her niece, Dawn Eminson of Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Friday, October 7, 2011, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where visitation will begin at 3 pm.
