Dominic “Frank” D’Alexander

May 12, 1923 - February 17, 2017

Dominic Frank D’Alexander, age 93, of Elkton, MD, formerly of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017.

Born in Kulpmont, PA on May 12, 1923, he was the son of the late Angelo and Virginia D’Alexander. Frank made his career as a quality control inspector for Chrysler Corp. and Ronson Razor Co., both in Newark, NVF in Kennett Square, PA and Metal Tech in New Castle.

A devout Catholic, he was a former member of Holy Angels Parish, Newark, and a current member of Immaculate Conception Parish. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, tending to his vegetable garden and watching his favorite sport, football. He could fix anything and enjoyed tinkering with various projects.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his son, Jeff D’Alexander. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Clara T. (Marcheski) D’Alexander; son, Jamie P. D’Alexander of Newark; grandchildren, Austin and his wife, Andrea, and Rose; and great granddaughter, Shelby.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE from 6 until 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Parish, 455 Bow Street, Elkton, MD at 11 am, followed by interment in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.

  • Pap Pap was a wonderful loving Grandfather to my son Austin D’Alexander. They enjoyed many special moments together. He will be sadly missed in our hearts, but I was blessed to have him in my life! Love you very much Pap Pap!
