Donald B. Schaefer, Sr.
June 25, 1943 - September 1, 2021
Donald B. Schaefer, Sr. age 78, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
Born in Aston, PA on June 25, 1943, he was a son of the late Howard J. and Dorothy E. (Cross) Schaefer. Donald worked for DuPont Chemicals Company for over 35 years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, day trips to Lancaster and Ocean City. Donald loved cars of all types, but was a racecar and classic car enthusiast. He was always known for wearing hats, and loved feeding birds.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Vivian D. (Dahlen) Schaefer; children; Cammie Schaefer and Donald Schaefer (Lisa); step-children, Oscar Aguilar (Fredeswinda), Faustino Aguilar (Sandy), Victor Aguilar, Marie Aquino, and Florence Mousley (Allan); 13 grandchildren; and beloved dog, Gidget.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE where a memorial service will begin at 1:30 pm. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. Interment will be held in Glenwood Memorial Gardens at a later date.
