Mr. Donald J. Hornberger II, age 56, of Bear, DE, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013.
Born in Upper Darby, PA, on February 23, 1956, son of the late Donald J. Hornberger and Noel Bailey Hornberger, Mr. Hornberger was a graduate of William Penn High School. He was employed with AAA in Delaware for many years and would go on to accept a position as a manager with Walmart in Las Vegas, where he worked for the past three years.
In his leisure hours, Mr. Hornberger greatly enjoyed working on his computer, biking, walking, and exploring local parks. He was also a very talented cook. A loving husband and devoted family man above all else, he delighted in spending time with his precious grandson, Joey.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Louise Talmo Hornberger; daughter, Sabrina L. Hornberger; grandson, Joey Hornberger-Rosete; siblings, Stephen Hornberger (Mary Rita), Sandra Fusto (Joe), Susan Buckman (Craig), Karl Hornberger (partner, David Herring), Michael Hornberger, and Chris Hornberger; sisters-in-law, Anna Reedy (Darryl B.) and Rosemarie Talmo (fiancé, Marc Segal); brothers-in-law, Frank Talmo and John Talmo, Jr.; and former sister-in-law, Lynn Talmo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Hornberger, and a sister, Linda Hornberger.
The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff of Seasons Hospice for their many kindnesses to Mr. Hornberger during his illness.
A memorial service will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday, January 9th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 5 pm.
