Mr. Donald W. Young, age 66, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012.
Born in Laconia, NH, on August 17, 1945, Mr. Young was the son of the late Percy and Phyllis (McClary) Young. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps and would later make his career with Greggo & Ferrara at the Cherry Island Landfill, where he retired in 2007 after 15 years of service.
An avid sports fan throughout his life, Mr. Young greatly enjoyed NASCAR and NFL football. He also enjoyed watching both comedy and action movies and keeping up with his many friends on Facebook.
He is survived by his beloved companion, Connie L. Smallwood of Wilmington; children, Robert Young of Lincoln, Lynda Truitt of Seaford, Lisa Summers of Seaford, Michelle Young, Tiffany Young, Bryan Young, and Kyle Smallwood of Wilmington; former wife, Linda Lou Young of Seaford; uncle, Guy McClary of Greenwood; aunt, Neva McClary of Bridgeville; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Monday, April 23, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 2 pm.
