Donna Lynn Smith, age 51, of Cecilton, MD, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020.

Born on August 17, 1969, in Wilmington, DE, she was a daughter of Frances (Williams) Combs of Bandy, VA and the late Chester Combs. Donna was a talented cook and an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. She had a heart for animals, and looked forward to her daily walks with her dogs. Donna was a devoted wife and mother, and cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.

In addition to her mother, Donna is survived by her best friend and devoted husband of 31 years, Barry R. Smith; children, Jake C. Smith (Brooke Parker) of Newark and Josh C. Smith of Jersey City, NJ; siblings, Floyd Combs of Chadds Ford, PA and Barbara Combs of Bear; and canine companions, Scout and Lila.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 12 pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, followed by a service at 12:30 pm. Masks will be required for all in attendance. Interment will be held in Townsend Cemetery, Caldwell Corner Road, Townsend, DE 19734.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna’s memory to Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.

  • I met Donna when I started working at Transamerica (Whirlpool). I was shocked to hear of her sudden passing. She had an infectious laugh and any time she talked about her boys, her face lite up!!! She will be missed.
