One Condolence for Doris Mailman

  • Dear Eric and Paul,
I was trying to reach Eric today and the phone number I had was no longer valid. A search brought me here, to the obituary of your mother, and I was sorry to read this although your Mom had a long life.
During the time you both lived in Kingston, your mother and mine (Evelyn) became good friends and after your family left Kingston to return to New York City our mothers corresponded regularly for many years. It was a friendship that lasted.
Eric knows that my own mother passed away in 2016, only a few years before your mother. Eric was one of a small number of my former classmates that I called within 24 hours of her death. Be assured, Eric, that you have been and remain one of my happy memories from our few years together, but in addition, I called you right away because I knew of the friendship between our mothers.
I hope that my belated condolence reaches the two of you and that you will email me back before long.
With best wishes and, sadly, with sincere hopes for your safety and welfare in these troubling days,
    I am,
    George Jones
