Dorothy “Dot” Eastridge, age 90, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018.

Born in McDonough, DE on January 9, 1928, Dot was the daughter of the late John Franklin and Cora Mae (Biddle) Reed. She dedicated her life to being a homemaker.

Dot was the last charter member of the Minquadale Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxillary, organized in 1951. She loved spending time fishing, crabbing, boating and sunbathing at their beach house at Oak Orchard. She also enjoyed making silk arrangements and working in her flower garden. Dot treasured time spent with her family, especially attending family cookouts.

Dot was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Walter Austin “Fish” Eastridge; grandchildren, Matt, Jenn and Andrea; brothers, Elmer W. Reed, John F. Reed Jr., James Reed and Robert Reed. She is survived by her children, Stephen F. Eastridge (Cheryl), Sharon L. Wilkinson (Harry), Bonnie G. Bowen, Catherine M. Johnson (Thomas), Patricia A. Houck (Paul) and Dorothy S. Hartman; brother, Roy R. Reed (Rosie); sister in law, Rose M. Finney; grandchildren, Jessie, Kenny, Shawn, Tammi (Pete), TJ, Dennis (Jen), Walt (Nicole), Sam (Lex), Danielle (Alvin), Brian, Vinny (Kim) and Ricky (Kayla); 28 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends, Ralph and Phyllis Fox.

A visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow at Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dot’s memory to the Minquadale Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 663 Manor Branch, New Castle, DE or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, PO Box 4777 New York, New York 10163.
