Edith Santa Barbara

Mrs. Edith M. Santa Barbara, age 85, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013, surrounded by her children.
A native Delawarean, Mrs. Santa Barbara was born in Marshallton on June 3, 1927. She was a talented homemaker throughout her life and had also enjoyed working as a cashier for A & P until her retirement.
An active, lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Holloway Terrace Fire Company, Mrs. Santa Barbara served on many auxiliary committees and was a past secretary. In her leisure hours, she greatly enjoyed league bowling and traveling with the senior center, spending summers at the beach, and, most of all, being with her beloved family of whom she was very proud.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Paul J. Santa Barbara, Jr., her son, Paul J. Santa Barbara III, her four sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her children, Michael R. Santa Barbara, Sr. and wife Terri of Ocean View, Thomas A. Santa Barbara, Sr. and wife Maria of Elsmere, and Patricia M. Moore and husband John of Bear; daughter-in-law, Denise M. Santa Barbara of Millville; grandchildren, Heather, Paul IV, Michael Jr., Sophia, Thomas Jr., and Kaitlyn; and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at St. Matthew’s R.C. Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Woodcrest, Wilmington. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
