Edna Ruth Turnbo

Mrs. Edna Ruth Turnbo, age 76, of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012, at Heartland Hospice House.
Mrs. Turnbo was born in Martinsburg, WV, on April 26, 1935, daughter of the late Joseph B. McCauley and Jesse Stains. A talented homemaker throughout her life, she was also employed in the custodial department of the Christina School District, retiring after 25 years.
In her leisure hours, she greatly enjoyed gaming at Delaware Park and playing bingo. She also delighted in watching the birds around her home and playfully whistling with them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James E. Holtzman. She is survived by her beloved husband, Troy A. Turnbo, Sr.; children, Barbara E. Neff, Joseph E. Holtzman, John E. Holtzman, Brenda S. Groff (Joe), Betty M. Wilson (Wayne), Troy A. Turnbo, Jr., and Tanya A. Messina (Keith); sister, Isabelle; 29 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Friday, April 6, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where visitation will begin at 3 pm.
