Edward Joseph McQuaide

Mr. Edward Joseph McQuaide, age 82, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on, Sunday, February 12, 2012.
Born on September 24, 1929, in Philadelphia, PA, Mr. McQuaide was the son of the late Edward J. McQuaide and Johanna Flagner McQuaide. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. McQuaide was employed as an electrical engineer, and after working with several firms throughout the country, he retired in 1995 from Philadelphia-based United Engineers.
Mr. McQuaide enjoyed many hobbies in his leisure time, especially outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, scuba diving, camping, and gardening. He was an accomplished artist and sculpturist. Mr. McQuaide was a dedicated husband, father, brother, and grandfather who delighted in spending time with those he loved at family gatherings.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jacqueline Bohner McQuaide and a granddaughter, Erin McQuaide. Mr. McQuaide is survived by his children, Keith A. McQuaide, and wife, Susan, of Greenville, SC, Pamela R. Woodard of Jacksonville, FL, Edward H. McQuaide of Carneys Point, NJ, Colleen H. Regan, of Swedesboro, NJ, and Daniel J. McQuaide, and wife, Sharon, of Williamstown, NJ; brother, James P. McQuaide of Philadelphia, PA; sister, Patricia M. Ingham of Philadelphia, PA; and grandchildren, Shannon, Joshua, and Megan.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, February 16, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 11 am until 12 Noon. Interment will be private.
