Elaina Lynn Nida, age 20, of Townsend, DE, died tragically in a car accident on Tuesday, December 13, 2011.
Elaina was born in Newark on September 14, 1991, and attended Middletown High School. A dynamic and vibrant young woman, she was well known and loved throughout her life for her mischievous, outgoing nature. She delighted in every new experience and possessed a keen sense of adventure, especially in exploring the outdoors. Most of all, she relished spending time with her family and her many friends, all of whom loved her dearly and will miss her deeply.
She is survived by her parents, Delbert L. Nida, Jr. and Susan C. Mangini Nida; her brother, Christopher M. Nida, Sr.; her nephew, Christopher M. Nida, Jr.; her grandfather, Albert P. Mangini, Sr.; and her aunt and godmother, Anna R. Knauer. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Anna J. Mangini.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 12 Winder Road, Garfield Park, New Castle. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Elaina may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
