Elberta Chambers

Mrs. Elberta Chambers, known fondly as “Bert,” age 88, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
Bert was born in Maryland on June 17, 1924, daughter of the late Sadie and Albert Allan. A dedicated sales representative for Avon for over 20 years, she had also been employed for a time with the former Sears Fashion Center in Stanton.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Woodrow “Woody” Wilson Chambers, Sr., in 1986. She is survived by her son, Woodrow W. Chambers, Jr. (Nancy) of Wilmington; sister-in-law, Sara Sieneski of Wilmington; granddaughter, Traci Miller (Mike) of Danville, VA; grandson, Woodrow W. Chambers III (Stephanie) of Elkton, MD; and great grandson, Jeffrey McKenney of Danville, VA.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, March 4th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
