Eleanor L. “Ellie” Taylor

March 8, 1931 - April 20, 2019

          Eleanor L. “Ellie” Taylor, age 88, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019.

          Born in Newark, DE on March 8, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Genevieve (Grant) Winchester, Sr.  Ellie was a lifelong resident of Newark and graduated from Newark High School.  For many years, she worked as a bookkeeper in the family business, Ken Taylor Trucking, Inc.  Following retirement, she volunteered at Union Hospital at the Good as New Shop.  Ellie’s focus was on being a homemaker and raising her family.

          In Ellie’s earlier years, she and her husband enjoyed their home at the beach, boating, fishing and crabbing.  A creative mind, she enjoyed making crafts for her family and friends.  Ellie was particularly fond of animals, especially all of her beloved cats she had over the years.

         She is survived by her children, Linda Huth (Charles), William Kenneth Taylor, Jr. and Steven Taylor (Teresa); grandchildren, Joseph Twardus, Christopher Twardus, Bill Taylor, Brian Taylor and Heather Taylor (Matthew Beattie); great grandson, Jackson  Beattie; and siblings, Jesse Winchester Jr. and Phyllis Fantazier.

          A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, April 29, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am.  Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

          In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ellie’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
