Eleanor O. Minnich

Eleanor O. Minnich, of Middletown, DE, known fondly as “Ellie” to her friends and “Baba” to her family, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013, surrounded by her family at home.
She was born in Central City, PA, on July 21, 1937, daughter of the late John W. O’Ship and Mary Selko O’Ship. A gifted and compassionate health care professional, she received her degree as a registered nurse from the Conemaugh Valley School of Nursing in Johnstown, PA.
Baba was also a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She greatly enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, quilting, gardening and painting. Ellie especially delighted in baking delicious treats and cooking wonderful meals for her family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Robert H. Minnich; daughters, Lisa M. Savino (Lou) of Middletown, DE, and Lori L. Wareham (Bill) of Severna Park, MD; brother, John O’Ship (Nancy) of Central City, PA; and seven grandchildren, Mary, Bella, Kate, Louis, Rylan, Sofia, and Nicholas.
Her family invites relatives and friends for a celebration of Ellie’s life from 1 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, June 2nd, at her home, 527 Silverhill Crossing, Middletown, DE 19709.
