Elizabeth J. Feasel
Mrs. Elizabeth J. Feasel, known fondly as “Miss Betty,” age 87, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 13, 2012.
Mrs. Feasel was a native Delawarean, born in Wilmington on February 24, 1925, daughter of the late Thomas Williams and Barbara Tracey Williams.
A 1943 graduate of Wilmington High School, Mrs. Feasel was a leader in the local business community for over 60 years as the owner and operator of the well-known specialty automotive parts firm, Jess Auto Supply. In 2000, she supervised the company’s move from its original location on Market Street in Wilmington to its current home on Kirkwood Highway in Elsmere.
A devout Christian throughout her life, Mrs. Feasel had been an active member of the Episcopal Church of Ss. Andrew and Matthew since 1953 and was a beloved Sunday School teacher there for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse L. Feasel, sister, Martha Reamer (Thomas), and a grandson, Christopher Feasel. She is survived by her sons, David L. Feasel (Susan) of Wilmington, and Harry L. Feasel (Marion) of Sarasota, FL; brother, William Williams (Beverly) of Roswell, GA; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Episcopal Church of Ss. Andrew and Matthew, 719 Shipley Street (Shipley Street at Eighth Street), Wilmington, DE, 19801, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will be held privately.
