Ella L. Stoneman Patrick

Ella L. Stoneman Patrick, age 96, formerly of Newark, DE and Oxford, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.
Ella was born in Hillsville, VA, on April 22, 1916, daughter of the late Rufus M. Pugh and Aldorah H. Reece Pugh. A talented and resourceful homemaker, she devoted her life to caring for her beloved family.
Ella was a devout Christian and a longtime member of the Full Gospel Church of Kennett Square, PA. She was also involved in evangelistic ministry with other local churches and co-pastored in Oxford with her husband Dorsey for many years. She greatly enjoyed needlework, singing, and playing the organ.
She is survived by her children, Kent Stoneman (Lida), Juanita M. Murray (Bill), Aldora E. “Pat” Duncan (Dale), and Debra L. McGhee (Jim); stepdaughters, Linda Jones and Eunice Warner; eleven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Dorsey K. Stoneman, in 1999; her husband of 11 years, Voyt Patrick, in 2012; son, Carson L. Stoneman; grandson, Jason Parisi-McGhee; and great grandsons, Eli Bishop and Matthew Irons. The youngest of fourteen children, Ella was also preceded in death by all thirteen of her siblings.
The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Foulk Manor South and Compassionate Care Hospice for their many kindnesses to Ella during her illness.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, where visitation will begin at 9 am. Interment will follow in Oxford (PA) Cemetery.
