Elmira E. “Marty” Williams

Elmira E. Williams, known fondly as Marty, age 77, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016.

A native Delawarean, Marty was born in Minquadale on August 11, 1938 and was a daughter of the late George B. and Ethel S. (Card) Till. She was a talented homemaker who devoted her life to caring for her family.

In her leisure time, Marty enjoyed taking frequent fishing trips along route 9 in New Castle with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Sunny Till, Chubby Till and Emmy Melvin. Marty is survived by her children, Cheryl Mohr and husband Bill of New Castle, Thomas Williams and wife Cathy of Crofton, MD, Billy Williams of Wilmington, and George and Gail Williams of New Castle; sister, Ilene Ishikawa and husband John of Wilmington; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Spicer-Millikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held privately.
