Ms. Elsie M. Panaro, age 94, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013.
Mrs. Panaro was born in Hancock, NH, on September 30, 1918, daughter of the late Nina and Edward Miller. A talented and resourceful homemaker, she devoted her life to caring for her beloved family.
Mrs. Panaro was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Fire Company. In earlier years, she was also an active member of the Boys and Girls Club.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roderick C. Derby, her second husband, Daniel James Panaro, Sr., her son, Edward C. Derby, and her grandson, Kenneth P. Derby. She is survived by her grandchildren, Linda D. Penland (Randy), Cynthia A. Barber (Jeff), and Brian K. Derby (Katherine); nine great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, where visitation will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
