Ernest P. Becker, Jr., age 90, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Wilmington, DE on June 21, 1928, he was the son of the late Ernest and Rhoda (Christopher) Becker. Ernest worked for Louis Capano in electric, hose and rubber, retiring in the 1980’s.
A true outdoorsman, Ernest enjoyed gardening vegetables, hunting and fishing with his dogs. He loved spending time with this family at gatherings and especially with his grandchildren. Ernest will be remembered as easy going and a simple man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Victoria Ann Yeatman. He is survived by his wife, Doris Ann (Brown) Becker; grandchildren, Ashley Yeatman, Jason Stepp, Jr. and Stephen Stepp; and nephew, James Pribish.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Friday, August 24, 2018, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 2 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
