Eva Elizabeth Thompson, age 89, of North Chesterfield, VA, and formerly of Viola, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 6, 2018.

Born in Wilmington, DE on July 6, 1929, she was a daughter of the late James and Pauline (Palmarella) Romano. Eva worked as a bank teller and retired after many years of service.

She loved sports, especially bowling and cheering on her beloved Phillies and Eagles. Other hobbies included bingo and dancing. Eva will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Winfield Scott Thompson; siblings, Daniel Romano, Rosie Billingsley and Iolene Brown; and grandson, Wyatt Jones. She is survived by her children, Donna Lynn Carawan (Michael) of North Chesterfield, VA, Mark Thompson (Sue) of Scottsdale, AZ and Lisa Jones of North Chesterfield VA; grandchildren, Domenica Carrillo, Katie Mayerschoff, Daniel Carawan, Megan Thompson, Kyle Ferris and Jarrett Jones; and 4 great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm on Monday, July 16, 2018, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eva’s name to the Hospice of Virginia Hope Foundation, 2235 Staples Mill Road, Suite 100, Richmond, VA 23230.
