Evelyn S. Curtis, age 91, of Carney’s Point, NJ and formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2020.

Born on September 13, 1928 in Wilkes Barre, PA, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Bertha (Jones) Mack.

In 1959, she and husband, Arthur, moved to New Castle, DE.  While there she worked for Flowers by Jamison for more than 5 years and later at Manor Pharmacy for 7 years. She attended the Pleasantville Baptist Church until her move to Merion Gardens Assisted Living in Carney’s Point, NJ in 2008.   While there she attended the First Assembly of God Church in Carneys Point, where she enjoyed making new friends and being closer to her son and his family.

Evelyn will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend to many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur, an infant son and half-brother, Earnest Jones.  She leaves many wonderful memories to her two sons, Dale Curtis, Sr. (Debbie) and Kevin Curtis (former spouse Amy Rose); a twin sister, Bertha Reese; 5 special grandchildren, Dale Curtis Jr. (Nicole), Kelly McDade (Sean), Julie Fink (Mike), Becky Luciano (Julio) and Diana Curtis; and 6 loving great grandchildren, Andrew, Sean, Tyler, Sophia, Dale Allen III, and Cameran.

All services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the First Assembly of God Church, 380 Georgetown Road, Carney’s Point, NJ 08069.

    I really enjoyed to talking and sitting with Evelyn at MG. My mom was at same table at meal time. I came every day and she brightened up the room. She got a goodbye hug from each visit. My mom passed before Evelyn.
