Florence Emma Jarman
December 4, 1942 - May 13, 2021
Florence Emma Jarman, age 78, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021.
Born in Chester, PA, on December 4, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Melvin L. and Emma E. (Doberstein) Jarman. Florence graduated from William Penn High School, then worked for several years as a secretary for Atlantic Aviation. Later, she embarked on a career as a travel agent for Ambassador Travel, where she traveled extensively around the world. Florence’s favorite place to visit was Disney World. She was also a longtime and faithful member of Pike Creek Bible Church.
Florence enjoyed visiting the beach and spent a week there with her sisters every year. She also delighted in listening to country music, watching Shark Week in addition to NASCAR, and was a proud Star Trek fan. Florence especially loved her family and will be deeply missed by many.
Florence is survived by her siblings, Melva Fontello (Paul), Charles Jarman (Mary Ann), Linda Jarman, Nancy Micsko (Charles), Stephen Jarman, and John Jarman (Pam); 16 nieces and nephews; and 30 great nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 3 pm on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Pike Creek Bible Church, 199 Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark, DE, followed by a memorial service at 3 pm. Face masks are required for all in attendance. Interment will be held privately.
