Mrs. Florence M. Edwards, known fondly as “Bud,” age 88, of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Darby, PA, on October 18, 1923, daughter of the late Albert Powell and Anna Myers Powell. A talented homemaker throughout her life, she delighted in spending time with her beloved family. She also greatly enjoyed cross-stitching, reading, solving crossword puzzles, and practicing yoga. She was active in local prayer groups for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Paul D. Edwards, in 2010. She is survived by her sons, Daniel P. Edwards of Middletown, and Ronald L. Edwards of Bear; granddaughter, Melissa Jones of California; brother, Albert Powell of Newark; and her loyal companion, Biscuit.
The family will have a private interment at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.
