Frances C. “Fran” Enos
November 18, 1939 - January 3, 2022
Frances C. “Fran” Enos, age 82, of Newark, DE formerly of Lewes, DE and Charleston, SC, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 3, 2022.
Born in Charleston, SC, on November 18, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Catherine Ciuffo. She met her husband Paul at the age of 17 while he was stationed in Charleston, serving in the Army. Not long after they met, they married and relocated to Paul’s hometown of Philadelphia to raise a family.
After raising her family, Fran was employed by Lou’s Loans as the office manager and eventually retired and moved to Lewes, Delaware with her beloved husband where they spent the last twenty years.
In her spare time, Fran enjoyed talking to her sister Petrina on the phone nearly every day, boating, dancing, traveling and visiting her family in South Carolina whenever she could. Cruising around the world with her husband, sister and brother-in-law were some of her greatest memories. She especially enjoyed trips to the beach to spend the day sitting in the sun, and listening to the ocean. Strong in her faith, Fran also took pride in volunteering at her church, Mary, Mother of Peace in Lewes. Fran will leave behind her beloved fur baby “Suzie”. Fran and Suzie could often be seen each morning strolling the boardwalk or taking long walks through her neighborhood.
In addition to her parents, Fran is preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul V. Enos and her brother, Victor Ciuffo. She is survived by her sister and best friend, Petrina (Ciuffo) Jacques of Ravenel South Carolina; two children, Victor Enos of Newark, DE and Maria Enos of Newtown Square, PA; two grandchildren, Diana Ducey and her husband Daniel of Clayton, DE and Victor Enos, Jr. of Newark DE; and two great grandchildren Madison and Tyler Ducey.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Holy Family R.C. Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, DE, where a Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 am. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance regardless of vaccination status. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Fran’s memory to Ovarian Cancer Research through the American Cancer Society by clicking here, or to any other cancer or hospice organization near to the donor’s heart.
