Frances “Pickles” Dotson
April 29, 1948 - June 12, 2024
Frances “Pickles” Dotson, age 76, of Bear, DE, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
Born in Wilmington, DE on April 29, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Archie and Helen (Lane) Boone. Frances dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker.
Frances loved to challenge her family and friends to a board or card game, especially Pokeno, Uno Attack, or Parcheesi. She also enjoyed playing bingo and flip five with Gary. In her spare time, Frances loved fishing with her husband, dancing to music, soaking up the sun, eating chocolate ice cream, and drinking Coca-Cola. She could often be found cheering on her beloved Phillies or trying her luck at Delaware Park. More than anything, Frances cherished her family and took extra pride in her grandchildren. She also loved all of her animal Grandbabies.
Pickles was mainly known to many people as Mom mom. She adored that title and loved everyone she adopted along the way. Mom mom was very giving and will always be remembered as a crazy soul, a pure spit-fire who always made us laugh, a mother, a wife, and the best Mom mom.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Dotson; and many brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Tricia Wilson (Gary) of Bear and Doris J. Klingler (Earl) of Townsend; siblings, Margo “Re-Re” Pierce of New Castle and Catherine Hearn of North Carolina; and grandchildren, Tommy Teague (Kaleigh) of Bear, Anthony Dotson, and Madison Henry.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Inurnment will be held privately.

Mom! It’s been 2 days since you left and I’ve went to call you so many times then realized you aren’t here. I can’t believe you’re gone!!! I know you’re with dad now and that’s where you wanted to be since he left us. I know you’re at peace now and pain free but I miss you mom!!!!! I love you and I will see you and dad when I get there❤️💔

Tricia and Doris and grandchildren. I’m truly sorry for your loss. Pickles was “one of a kind”. She was one of the funniest people I have ever known but she also had a “big heart”. I know she’s at peace with your dad. And I can only imagine the reunion in heaven with everyone. I know you will miss her,but she raised some strong women. Many hugs and prayers.
